Customer Reviews

PRICE... LOOKS... QUALITY... WESTERN DIGITAL... QUIET... -TroyDowling on Newegg.com

The Elements 2tb is very quiet and does it's job unnoticed. The tiny light is unobtrusive and won't light up the room all night, it is on the back side. Some complain the cord is too short, but for me it is perfectly long enough to reach where I have it placed near the computer. -Jeeps - the real one on Buzzillions.com

The price is great.
The product seems to go on line and off every few seconds. I have not sent it back for warranty yet.
The warranty is only 2 years, the warranty of the segate competative is 5 years. -Billyboytoo on Walmart.com

The moment you receive the drive check your warranty online at the Western Digital website. The warranty for this model is only 1 year which I consider absolutely insufficient for a drive. The bad thing about it is that Western Digital starts counting from the manufacturing date and by the time you get it, the warranty left is only 9-10 months which is ridiculous. -wiespinosas on Amazon.com

Easy to install. We use this on a Mac for Time Machine. Good value for the money. -hirschwrites on BHPhotoVideo.com

Out of the box this hard drive was read-only when I hooked up to my iMac. Instructions included didn't address how to fix. Had to go online to manufacturer website to troubleshoot. Not incredibly difficult, but someone unfamiliar with technology would probably have some trouble. -DAllen415 on BestBuy.com

This was exactly what I wanted in a USB hard drive: gigantic capacity, great price, portability, and no extraneous software to wade through and work around taking up space. -Anonymous Charlie on CircuitCity.com

2TB drive worked right out of the box. No problems so far. Primarily use it to view movies and music. -Arctor on Newegg.com

Its much smaller than I expected. It is dead silent, I had to touch it to convince myself that it was running, when I first turned it on. Its not too heavy either. -Sree V. Ramella on Amazon.com

I opted for WD's (low end) Element series HD with 2TB of capacity which as of now does not have the permanent backup software. So far it operates just great! And for the price you can't beat it. -Marv Jr. on Buzzillions.com

I haven't been using it for too long, but so far it is exactly what I needed. Pretty fast and convenient, ideal for extra or back-up storage. 2TB is a lot of space.... -andinas on Walmart.com

This is a hassle free drive and is not bundled with any of the extra software which is exactly what I wanted. You simply plug it in and it works. It can easily be formatted to work with macs as well. I've been using WD hard drives for years and I own several models of the "essential" and "passport" editions. They are very reliable. -Gaurav Kumar on Amazon.com

I ordered two identical drives, and neither drive could be partioned on my computer, even after hours of internet instructions and two extremely long phone calls with WD's customer service. -Steve the Great on BHPhotoVideo.com

I looked at the features and user ratings and decided to try this one over the others in a comparable price range. Easy installation and works flawlessly! -DH2112 on BestBuy.com

This product is what it says it is, with the exception that it's actually 1.8TB. Beyond that, it is exactly what the description says it it, large, not particularly fast, and very, very quiet. -Mo on CircuitCity.com

One thing some people might not like: The case is designed to sit flat (as pictured), not on its side. There are four small non-skid pads on the bottom corners, but none on either side. There is no indication on the box, in the documentation, or on Western Digital's web site as to whether the drive will work properly on edge. As a general rule, WD drives are designed to operate sideways or even upside down (any X,Y,Z orientation), so this one probably will too -- but you'll need to provide your own non-skid pads. -ScottW on Amazon.com

Daiwa® Millionaire - S Series Baitcasting Reel M - S300
have owed a few millionaires before, and they all had one in common, great drags, and great gears. But the rest of the reel did wear down quicker than my Ambassaduer classics. But overall I have been impressed with the functionality of some of the Millionaire reels. -Killerbug onOutdoorsfirst.com
I love that reel. I got one from Breakaway and had on it a 20# test line Yellow Suffix/breakaway and a 50# shock leader. I pulled a 42 and 1/2 inch red (31#). -Fisherman on Breakaway
Your best bet money wise may be a Daiwa Millionaire S250, they sell in the $50 range and do ok in saltwater with some normal maintenance and cleaning. No more than any such reel though. -reelmess on Noreast.com

This is one of the finest reels I have bought in recent years. Right out of the box I was impressed with the smooth action and sturdy craftmanship. I originally bought this reel for my son since his saltwwater Shakespear couldn’t handle the saltwater… -brian marino onAmazon.com
The Okuma Avenger spinning reel was a smooth reel, but there are much better reels offered by Okuma. I’m talking about reels that the pros have used for YEARS. – anonymous onBigfishtackle.com

Okuma ABF-30 Avenger Baitfeeder Spinning Reel (10lb/180yd)
This is an awesome reel that is built to last. I plan on getting another one… Okuma just makes good products. -David W. Dodson on Amazon.com
i put 300yds of 100lb braid(20lb mono) onto the abf90 and the spool is over full. i dont no where i am supposed to put the other 290yds u guarenteed it would hold. isn’t anybody else having this problem? i held like 5lbs of pressure while lining it up. -instantthc on Buzzillions.com
This is the best bait feeder (bait runner) reel for the money I could find. -R. Groom onAmazon.com
I cast out and after a few minutes pulled back in and i heard a little crunching sound.A slight and I mean minute amount of sand in the spool somehow and it was grinding terribly. i decided to pull my rig in and clean it out. As i was reeling in i heard a slight pop. Next thing I know i have no antireverse and the reel is free spooling.
I absolutely love my other Okuma reels(Epixor EB-50, and Convector Linecounter)and was thoroughly disappointed with the Avenger. Maybe i got a dud but man did that ruin my night. -snareguy24 on Epinions.com
This is my 2nd ABF30 reel and my 5th baitfeeder from Okuma. They are lightweight and durable and the baitfeeder works as advertised. -Gary Plesea on Amazon.com

Daiwa Saltwater Fishing Reel Reviews

There are so many different brands and models of saltwater fishing reels

that it is difficult to choose the best one for you. To help you decide, it is important to determine your needs when you go fishing. Do you need to cast your line at a longer distance? Do you need to haul ahumongous fish from the bottom of the sea? These are some of the questions that you need to ask yourself before you buy a saltwater fishing reel.
Another consideration that you need to keep in mind when buying fishing reels is the brand. The brand is important because it tells a lot about the product. A well-known and reputable brand is more likely to manufacture high quality gear than an unknown brand. It might be a little more expensive but the price will be worth it when you get a reel that meets your expectations. If you want to buy a high quality reel from a well-known fishing equipment company, you should check out the products manufactured by Daiwa.
Daiwa fishing reels are resistant to corrosion. Since the equipment is constantly exposed to saltwater, you have to be able to trust that it will not corrode at all. The reels manufactured by this company are tightly sealed and made of corrosion resistant materials to ensure that the parts are protected and will last for a long time.
The cast control feature of these reels makes them highly manageable. You can also make some tension adjustments on the line using  by just clicking a disc located on the side of the reel.
When you cast or haul the line, you will feel only feel smoothness, which is a feature and benefit that this company is proud of.

Okuma Saltwater Fishing Reel Reviews

Okuma is one of the leading brands of saltwater fishing reels

and other fishing equipment. In fact, this company is one of the leading fishing equipment manufacturers in the world. One advantage of this company over others is that they offer high quality fishing equipment at a much lower price. This is what attracts fishermen from around the world to buy their gear from them.
It is important to choose a good quality fishing reel in order to be able to fully enjoy the fishing experience. Anyone who has ever struggled with a poorly designed and constructed reel will know how important this is. You should read reviews such as this article before you buy anything. This is especially helpful whether buying your first reel or your dozenth.
Check out the following features of Okuma fishing reels:
  • This company keeps on improving its products by continually refining the design and manufacturing process. This allows them to put out products of greater enhanced performance and efficiency. For instance, the Old Fina reel is a classic reel that, while it was a fine piece of gear as it was, the company manufactured a newer and better reel, the New Fina. The New Fina is sleeker in terms of design and the performance is also greatly improved.
  • Reels made by this company are designed for long casting. This makes it perfect for those hard to reach areas and you do not have to get too near the fish and risk spooking them. The casting is a very smooth process, which makes fishing a whole lot easier and more enjoyable.
  • Retrieving the fish can be difficult with lesser quality gear; but with this brand, retrieving becomes smooth and simple. You do not have to exert too much effort, especially if you are trying to haul in an extra large catch.
  • The price is very reasonable compared to other brands. This makes it perfect for people who are just starting to do this hobby or even for experienced sport fisher.
